Singapore, 14 August 2024 – In April 2023, CLA Global TS launched its inaugural scholarship and mentorship programme for Institute of Technical Education (ITE) students pursuing Accountancy-related courses. Celebrating over a year of ongoing efforts to create winning opportunities for ITE students aspiring to join the industry, CLA Global TS remains committed to supporting and nurturing the next generation of accounting professionals.
The scholarship programme stems from the firm’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for ITE College students to achieve their career goals, just as it has done for university and polytechnic students since 2008. Since the scholarship’s launch, CLA Global TS is pleased to see other industry players reaching out to support students’ learning journeys in the accounting industry.
On 17 April 2023, CLA Global TS signed a Letter of Collaboration with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central to launch its first scholarship and training programme for ITE students pursuing Accountancy related courses.
“Supporting education is an initiative that everyone in the industry should embrace to foster the development of individuals aspiring to join our field. CLA Global TS is honoured to be the first to offer such learning opportunities to the students of ITE College Central, and we aim to continue our efforts to provide educational opportunities to more students from diverse backgrounds. Through these efforts, we strive to create winning opportunities for our communities, who, with this support, will eventually grow and become our future professionals,” shared Mr. Henry Tan, Group CEO and Chief Innovation Officer at CLA Global TS.
Internships Opportunities with CLA Global TS
Since signing the Letter of Collaboration (LOC), CLA Global TS has mentored over 20 students, offering them valuable industry experience in the accounting sector. The growing number of scholarship recipients underscores the firm’s dedication to providing equal opportunities, with the number of ITE students interning at CLA Global TS quadrupling compared to the period before the LOC signing.
Offering Monetary Assistance
As part of the scholarship, sponsorships in the form of Study Awards, Good Progress/Character Awards, and book prizes are awarded to students pursuing Accountancy-related courses. Through these sponsorships, a total of $30,000 in monetary assistance has been dedicated to supporting ITE students in their studies.
Engagement through Career Talks
In July, a career talk was held at ITE College Central, Mr. Lee Tze Shiong, Director of Assurance and Transformation & Quality, and Ms. Loh Hui Nee, Director of Assurance and People & Culture at CLA Global TS, delivered an engaging presentation to the students, providing them with a deeper understanding of the industry and our firm’s vision.
In the latest event, students visited the CLA Global TS office, where they were given a tour to experience the working environment and attended an interactive career talk.
The session featured Mr. Edwin Leow, Co-Advisory Leader, Head of Tax; Mr. Lee Tze Shiong, Director, Assurance and Transformation & Quality; and Ms. Maria Teo, Associate Director, Sustainability & Climate Change Lead and Risk Advisory. They provided insights into diversifying careers in Auditing or Advisory, as well as in digital transformation and technology within Accounting.

Upcoming activities include industry visits and mentorship programme to impart valuable knowledge about the accounting industry. Students can look forward to these programmes to gain further clarity on their career goals.
