Singapore, 17 July 2026 – CLA Global TS congratulates outstanding journalists and media professionals at the Singapore Press Club Awards 2026, held on 15 July 2026. As a proud supporter of the awards, CLA Global TS is honoured to recognise journalists and media practitioners who have excelled in their craft and whose work has made a meaningful impact on the business, financial and wider community.
For the second consecutive year, the CLA Global TS – Singapore Press Club Finance Journalism Award recognised a journalist who has demonstrated excellence in delivering timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting while helping readers navigate complex and evolving financial issues. This year’s award was presented to Mr Ben Paul, Senior Correspondent at The Business Times, SPH Media, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to financial journalism.
“A heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and to the Singapore Press Club on a successful Awards Night celebrating the impact of exemplary journalism. We extend our warmest congratulations to Mr Ben Paul on his well-deserved win. At CLA Global TS, we believe that strong financial markets are built not only on sound businesses and good governance, but also on truthful, balanced and insightful journalism. Ben exemplifies these qualities through his thoughtful, in-depth reporting and fair analysis, helping readers better understand complex financial and business issues,” said Mr Henry Tan, Group CEO and Chief Innovation Officer of CLA Global TS.
“For two years running, the Singapore Press Club is thrilled to have CLA Global TS sponsor the Finance Journalism category at the SPC Awards. I strongly believe we have started a new ecosystem to recognise and honour journalistic excellence, especially in finance journalism. This is evident from the quality nominations received, setting a high benchmark for future years. With the continued support of CLA Global TS, I look forward to even having more than one winner for this category. This will definitely buttress the SPC Awards as the Club’s signature event,” said Mr Bhagman Singh, Vice President, Singapore Press Club, and Chair, SPC Awards Committee.

In the judges’ words, Mr Ben Paul sets a high standard for Singapore journalists by consistently delivering deep, credible analysis that readers trust. Over the past year, he has written about efforts to revive the Singapore stock market, highlighting challenges such as the need for firms to better communicate their strategic plans, while also educating local investors who are more accustomed to high dividend-paying securities than faster-growing, riskier technology stocks.

“Financial journalism is more relevant than ever, as businesses are adapting to new technologies and a more complex global landscape while also controlling their own messaging. Accurate reporting, with context and analysis, can provide the market with a fuller picture of what’s happening. The support from the Singapore Press Club and CLA Global TS for the work my colleagues and I do in this field is highly encouraging,” said Mr Ben Paul, Senior Correspondent at The Business Times, SPH Media, and recipient of the CLA Global TS – Singapore Press Club Finance Journalism Award 2026.
“Financial journalists play an important role in strengthening Singapore’s position as a leading international financial centre. Through accurate reporting and informed commentary, they contribute to greater market transparency, investor confidence, and the continued revitalisation of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Singapore’s capital markets,” added Mr Henry Tan.
