Singapore, 15 May 2024 – CLA Global TS honours International Day of Families 2024 by supporting the families of Our People and addressing climate change issues through several ongoing efforts.
International Day of Families is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of families and highlighting various challenges they face. It is a day for reflecting on the impact of family, supporting individuals from all walks of life, and recognising those who may not have family around.
CLA Global TS Group CEO and Chief Innovation Officer, Mr. Henry Tan, shared, “While work is important to bring food to the tables, spending quality time with our family is equally, if not more important and should be a priority in our lives. CLA Global TS promotes family-centric practices, supporting and encouraging our people to balance work and family time.”
The theme for International Day of Families 2024 focuses on the impact of climate change on families and the role families play in climate action. Climate change affects family livelihoods through factors like pollution and disruptions to agriculture and food systems. Conversely, families contribute to climate change through their consumption patterns, such as electricity use and transportation choices, impacting greenhouse gas emissions.
Family Comes First – Family-Oriented Policies at CLA Global TS
With policies that prioritise work-life balance and family time, CLA Global TS demonstrates its commitment to its employees and embraces family-oriented practices. Our People are encouraged to spend quality time with their families, including participating in quarterly “Eat with your Family” days, where they can leave an hour early to share meals with their loved ones.
Furthermore, additional leave options such as parental, family care, and childcare leave are available to encourage Our People to prioritise their loved ones. CLA Global TS ensures that employees have a supportive environment where they can focus on work while also being there for their families.
Speaking of family, CLA Global TS offers its employees the option for flexible work arrangements, often allowing them to work remotely and spend time with their families while still fulfilling their job responsibilities.
While the primary benefit of remote work is the ability to work from the comfort of one’s home and be close to loved ones, it also plays a minor role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting digital documents instead of printing physical versions and reducing the need for vehicle travel to the office. While these may seem minor, they contribute to the creation of a more sustainable way of working.
Planting the Seeds of Sustainability
As a firm recognised as advisors in Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) services, CLA Global TS ensures practical environmentally friendly operations. By adopting a paperless approach and digitalising daily operations, including eliminating the need for physical name cards, CLA Global TS has largely eliminated the need for physical printing and significantly reduced its carbon emissions in recent years. Through these policies, the firm also aims to encourage its employees to set examples for their loved ones and embark on the journey of creating more sustainable households.
“To ensure a healthy environment for our families, it’s essential that we also contribute to environmental preservation. With the greener workplace initiatives at CLA Global TS, we aim to inspire Our People to adopt similar practices at home, thereby reducing their carbon footprint and encouraging their loved ones to do the same,” added Mr. Henry Tan.
